Smart Earth Camelina Oil gives horses what most rations are short on: easily digestible omega fatty acids, in a single-ingredient, cold-pressed oil. It carries a favourable omega-3 to omega-6 ratio of 1.8:1 and far better oxidative stability and shelf life than flax or fish oils, so it stays fresh in the barn instead of going rancid on you. It is the horses that struggle to hold weight, look dull or brittle through the coat, or have lost a step in their movement that tend to show the biggest change. Camelina oil is also highly palatable, so most picky eaters take to it without a fight. Suggested daily dosage, top-dressed on feed: • Small horse (600–800 lb): 1 oz / 30 mL • Average horse (800–1,200 lb): 2 oz / 60 mL • Large horse (1,200 lb+): 3 oz / 90 mL This 3.78 L (1 gallon) jug lasts roughly 30 to 64+ days depending on dose.
