Three applicators on the shelf means three things to clean, and in practice two of them sit unused while the third wears out. The Pro DPS is built to be all three: one 30 mL barrel with the tips to switch it between oral drenching, pour-on and injecting. The kit takes in a 30 mL applicator, a sheep and calf drench nozzle, a shower pour-on tip, a luer lock injector tip, and 1.5 m (5 ft) of 9.5 mm (3/8 in) silicone tubing. The cylinder is a high chemical resistance polyolefin, which is the reason it copes with the mixed diet of products a multi-purpose gun sees. Dosing is fully adjustable up to 30 mL, set by turning the dosage selector so the front of the piston O-ring lines up with the dosage line on the barrel. Fast-fill valve technology keeps the refill quick through a long run. Change tips with the barrel empty, and prime the line each time you switch, because leftover from the last job has no business in the next one. Flush the barrel, the tip and the full length of tubing with warm water afterwards. Silicone tube is the part that stiffens and eventually needs replacing. Route, product and dose are decisions for your veterinarian, taken with the label in hand.
