Ramik Bars is a solid rodenticide bait registered with Health Canada under the Pest Control Products Act as PCP Reg. No. 30167 (registered name RAMIK BARS KILLS RATS AND MICE; registrant: Neogen Corporation). Its marketing class is COMMERCIAL. The guarantee is diphacinone 0.005%. The registered label lists net contents of "4 X 454g bait blocks" or a single 454 g bar; this listing is the four-bar pack (sold as 4 x 453 g, 16 oz each). The label states: "Each Ramik® Bar consists of a 454g bar scored so that it can be broken into 16 equal 28g pieces." Who the label allows to use it: "Only to be used by certified pest control operators, farmers and persons authorized in government-approved pest control programs." The label also notes: "This product contains petroleum distillates." What the label covers: "For the control of Norway Rats, Roof Rats and House Mice indoors, and outdoors within 15 metres of buildings (home, industrial and agricultural buildings)." Beyond that 15-metre limit, the label allows tamper-resistant bait stations along a property's fence line within 100 metres of buildings "if the station is securely fastened (e.g., nailed down) to the fence or the ground." How to apply, from the label. Rats: "Place 4 to 16 28g pieces of Ramik® Bars per bait station, at intervals of 4.5 to 9 metres per placement." and "Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 15 days or until signs of rat activity cease." Mice: "Place 1 to 4 28g pieces of Ramik® Bar per bait station, at intervals of 2.5 to 3.5 metres per placement." and "Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 15 days or until signs of mouse activity cease." (As arithmetic, the four bars break into 64 pieces of 28 g.) Precautions, as printed: "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, PETS AND LIVESTOCK." "May be harmful or fatal if swallowed or absorbed through the skin." "Chemical-resistant gloves must be worn when handling products and when disposing of dead rodents, unconsumed bait and empty containers." "Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing." "KEEP AWAY FROM FEED AND FOODSTUFFS." "If pet or livestock poisoning is suspected, immediately contact a veterinarian." Store it "in a secure location inaccessible to children and non-target animals." For dead rodents the label says: "Dispose of dead rodents in garbage or by burying."
