Ramik Rat Glue Traps (2 pack)
Two rat-sized glue traps — larger, stronger adhesive boards for monitoring rat activity in poison-free areas.
Details
Rat-sized glue boards, two to a pack. They are bigger than the mouse version and use a stronger adhesive, because a rat has the strength to walk off a board meant for a mouse. No poison, no mechanism. Where these have a clear and defensible use is monitoring. Put boards along a suspected runway for a few nights and you learn where rats are actually travelling — far more reliable than guessing — and you can place stations or snap traps accordingly. In food-handling areas where poison is not permitted they may also be one of the few tools allowed. Be aware of the welfare issue, because with rats it is worse than with mice. A rat caught by one foot is strong enough to struggle for a long time, and animals on glue boards are known to injure themselves badly trying to get free. This is a slow death, not a quick one, and glue traps are restricted or prohibited in several jurisdictions on those grounds. If you use them to catch, check them at least twice a day and dispatch anything caught immediately and humanely. If that is not something you will reliably do, use a proper rat snap trap instead — it kills at once. Set them tight against a wall in a runway, well out of reach of dogs, cats, children and birds, which is a real concern outdoors where a bird can be caught. Cold, dust and moisture all cut the adhesive's grip, so a board in a dirty or unheated building will underperform.
