Sixteen small refillable mouse bait stations. At this quantity the cost per station drops and you can do the thing that actually works: put a station everywhere a mouse might travel across an entire yard — every building, every wall, every corner where droppings show up — instead of moving four stations around and hoping. Mice have small territories. A mouse living behind a shop bench will not walk sixty feet to a station by the granary; it needs one within a few metres of where it lives. That is why station count matters more than bait quantity, and why a sixteen-pack is a more useful purchase than a bigger pail of bait. These are refillable and last for years, so this is equipment spending rather than a consumable. Most rodenticide labels require bait to be in a station, so they are also what keeps a baiting program lawful and keeps bait away from dogs, cats and children. Practical routine: set them tight against walls in corners and behind equipment, write down or map where every one of them is, and service the line on a schedule rather than when you happen to remember. Clean out soiled or mouldy bait rather than adding fresh on top — mice reject spoiled bait, and a station nobody is feeding on gets blamed on the wrong thing. Wear gloves servicing them, and keep the opening tool with the pail so it does not go missing.
