Hot Shot HS2000 The Green One Green Handle (HU2HS)
The battery-powered HS2000 Green One prod handle from Hot-Shot, with a sealed solid-state motor, safety clip and finger guard.
Details
The Green One is the handle most people picture when somebody says Hot-Shot. It runs on six C-cell batteries, takes any Hot-Shot shaft, and the motor is a permanently sealed solid-state unit in a water-resistant case. That is the whole reason it survives a career in a processing barn. Dirt, wet hair and a January morning are what kill electrics, and this one is built with that in mind. It has a finger guard and a safety clip that keeps it from going off in the truck box or against your leg. As a handling tool it belongs at the back of the line, after gates, flags, a paddle and decent alley design have done their work. The best crews carry one and use it rarely, which is usually a sign the rest of the system is set up right. The handle ships without a shaft, so pick the length and stiffness that suit your alley and tub. Pull the batteries if it is going to sit through the off season, keep the contacts clean, and store it inside rather than in an unheated shed.
