Poultry
Nipples and Drinkers
Nipple drinkers keep chicken water cleaner than an open trough because birds peck a valve instead of standing in and fouling the water. Pipestone Farm Supply lists two Tuff Stuff poultry nipple products: the Tuff Stuff poultry hydrating bucket, a 5 gallon bucket fitted with six mini nipples that hangs at head height for a backyard flock, and a pack of Tuff Stuff red mini nipples for replacing worn valves or building your own drinker from a bucket or PVC line. Hang the bucket so the nipples sit just above the birds' heads, check that each valve drips when touched, and bring drinkers indoors or switch to a heated waterer once Alberta nights drop below freezing. For heated and gravity waterers see the poultry waterers page. Ships Canada-wide from Millet, Alberta.
