Details
Packing a foot with poultice cut from a large rectangle wastes half the pad and never quite fits around the frog. These come already cut to hoof shape, so the dressing sits where it should the first time instead of leaving you standing there with scissors and a wet pad. Each pack holds three dressings. They can be used soaked in hot water, soaked in cold water, or applied dry, depending on what the situation calls for, and they stay reasonably tidy to handle. Usual applications are foot abscesses, thrush, corns and puncture wounds. Hold the dressing on with a cohesive wrap or a hoof boot, and keep the foot as clean and dry as conditions allow. Change it on whatever schedule your veterinarian sets, and get the foot looked at rather than covered if it is not improving. Keep a pack in the barn kit. They store well and are worth having before you need them rather than after.
