Measuring pour-on out of a jug and tipping it along a back is how product ends up on the ground, on your sleeve and unevenly on the animal. A gun draws a measured volume through a tube from the container and lays it where you point it, which means less waste and a more consistent stripe. This is the 70 mL model, supplied with the barrel and soft tubing. The dose is adjustable, set on the barrel and read against the graduations, and the tubing means the container stays on the ground or in a holster rather than being carried. Replacement barrels are made for this family in both 30 mL and 70 mL sizes, so if you are ordering one, match it to the gun you actually have. A 30 mL barrel will not give you a 70 mL dose. Prime the line until it runs clear of air before the first animal, and keep the pickup end of the tube below the surface as the container drains. Pour-on products are hard on rubber, so flush the barrel and the whole length of tube with warm water at the end of the day. Tubing is the part that stiffens and cracks first, and it is a consumable.
