This is straight ivermectin, no tapeworm component, which makes it the everyday tube rather than the once-a-year one. It covers the parasites that make up the bulk of the problem in horses: large and small strongyles including migrating larvae, roundworms, pinworms, hairworms, lungworm, and bots — the last one being the reason a late-fall dose has been standard practice on the prairies for decades. If you are running a program that includes a praziquantel dose once or twice a year for tapeworm, this is what fills the rest of the schedule at a lower cost per tube. If you are not running any program in particular, that is worth fixing: modern advice is fewer, better-targeted treatments based on fecal egg counts rather than dosing every horse every eight weeks, because the old calendar approach is what produced the resistance we now have to work around. Set the dial to the horse's weight before you start. Tape or scale beats guessing — most people underestimate a well-muscled horse by a hundred pounds or more, and a half dose is worse for your farm long-term than no dose at all. Deliver it over the base of the tongue and keep the head up briefly. Read the label for cautions around foals, thin or debilitated animals, and any concurrent medication. Ivermectin is toxic to some other species at horse doses — keep it away from dogs, and clean up any paste a horse drops. Store above freezing.
