An open bucket of grain in a barn is a rodent invitation and a spill waiting for the first animal that gets loose. Most people cover them with a board or an old feed bag, which stays put until it does not. This lid is made for the 20-quart flat back bucket specifically, so it works around the handle rather than fighting it. The rim flexes to clear the handle mounts and four locking snaps hold it down once it is seated. It is moulded from impact-resistant polypropylene in black, and once closed it will take 40 pounds stacked on top, which means covered buckets can go two or three high in a corner instead of taking up floor. Worth knowing what it is not. The closure keeps rodents and dust out and keeps the contents from going everywhere in a tipped bucket, but it is not a water-tight seal, so it will not keep rain out of a bucket left outside. Snap all four catches rather than two, especially if you are stacking. If a snap gets stiff in the cold, warm the lid before forcing it.
