Details
Little Giant Incubator Thermometer Kit (Miller Manufacturing SKU 6303). Miller describes it as "Essential for monitoring the temperature inside an incubator." Miller's product page says: "Mercury-free thermometer comes mounted on a clear Mylar sheet to keep it on top of the eggs for easy viewing." and "Easy-to-read graduation marks can be seen through the incubator window." Miller's instruction sheet says: "This thermometer is intended to be used within a temperature range of 50° - 120°F (10° - 50°C)." If it is exposed to cold, the sheet says the red fluid column can split; its fix is to put the thermometer in a sealed plastic bag and hold the bulb end under hot water until the column rejoins, up to a maximum of 125°F. "Do not expose to open flame." The kit reads the temperature; it does not set it. Follow your incubator's own instructions for the temperature and humidity to hold.
