Backyard flocks produce faster than most kitchens use, and the usual result is a bowl on the counter where new eggs go on top and the ones from two weeks ago sit at the bottom, forgotten. Rotation solves that, but only if the storage does the rotating for you. The rack is a heavy-duty stainless steel spiral. Eggs load at one end and roll down the coil as you take from the other, so what comes off is always the oldest in the run. It holds up to 36 eggs, which for most small flocks is a week or so of laying kept in plain view. This is designed for unwashed farm-fresh eggs at room temperature, where the bloom is still intact and refrigeration is not required. Store-bought eggs have already been washed and belong in the fridge, so they are not a good fit for a counter rack. Stainless wipes clean if an egg breaks, and the spiral is stiff enough to hold a full load without splaying. Set it somewhere out of direct sun and away from the stove.
