Little Giant Ceramic Nest Eggs Brown

Two brown ceramic eggs to a package, made to the same colour, size and weight as the real thing. They go in the nesting box and they stay there. They solve two problems. The first is a pullet that has just come into lay and has not worked out where she is meant to do it. A nest with an egg already in it reads to a hen as a nest other birds have approved, so she uses it instead of laying in a corner of the run or under the feed bin. Setting one in each box when a new flock moves in saves a lot of hunting through straw. The second problem is egg eating. A hen that breaks one egg and tastes it will keep going, and the habit spreads through a flock fast. A ceramic egg does not break, and a bird that pecks at one a few times generally loses interest in the whole idea. That is a cheap fix for a problem that otherwise ends with culling birds. Ceramic washes properly too, which counts for something in a nest box that sees a broken egg now and then.
