The CPH holds two gallons in impact-resistant DuraFlex plastic and measures 11.375 inches across by 8.5 inches high, or 12.5 inches wide once you count the bracket. That bracket is moulded into the pail itself and simply hooks over any two-by board. No tools, no hardware, no drilling. You walk to the pen, drop it over the top rail, and feed. When the pen gets reconfigured, or you want the feeder somewhere else tomorrow, you lift it off and move it. Anyone running goats knows how often that comes up. If you want it permanent instead, two eyelets are moulded in for screws, which are not included. It suits goats, sheep, alpacas, llamas and small horses, which is to say animals that will happily flip a ground pail and stand in whatever they do not eat. Getting feed up off the dirt cuts waste and keeps parasites out of the ration, and that is the real reason hook-over feeders pay for themselves in a small ruminant setup. Wash it out now and then, especially if you feed anything damp that will sour in the corners.
