Laco twist stik neon (pink)
A neon pink LA-CO All-Weather Twist-Stik livestock marker, a bright second colour for separating groups at a glance.
Details
Pink earns its keep as a second colour. Most operations end up marking more than one thing on the same day, and if it is all the same colour you have lost the plot by noon. Green for one group, pink for another, and the sort suddenly makes sense from twenty feet back. It is the same All-Weather Twist-Stik: real paint rather than chalk, water and weather resistant, in a twist-up holder about one and a quarter by four and three quarter inches. LA-CO lists it as non-toxic and safe for livestock. It marks cattle, hogs and sheep for sorting, breeding, treatment and vaccination groups. Neon pink reads well against black and red hides, which covers most of what comes through a chute in this part of the country. Write down somewhere what the colour means before you start, because you will remember perfectly at ten in the morning and not at all the following week. Cap it after use, keep it out of the heat of a summer cab, and pick up a second one before you run out mid-sort rather than after.
