Swine
Feeding and Watering
Nipple drinkers give pigs clean water on demand and keep the pen drier than an open trough. Pipestone Farm Supply lists two Swine Boss stainless steel nipple drinkers: the flat piglet nipple drinker for weaners and nursery pens, and the hex nipple drinker for growers, finishers and sows. Both are stainless steel for corrosion resistance and plumb into the pen water line. Mount piglet nipples at shoulder height for the smallest pig in the pen and raise them as the group grows, check that each nipple releases water when pressed, and provide at least one drinker per pen with a spare where groups are large. Pigs learn nipples quickly when the drinker drips for the first day. Orders ship Canada-wide from Millet, Alberta, or pick up in store.
