Nine times out of ten a Hot-Shot that has lost its snap needs batteries, not repair. Put a fresh set in before you conclude anything is wrong with the unit. Six Rayovac alkaline cells to the pack, packaged as Hot-Shot part ALKDP2, which is the genuine replacement pack rather than a generic substitute. Store them somewhere warm. Cold takes capacity out of alkaline cells, and a pack that has wintered in a truck is not the fresh set you were counting on. Two packs on the shelf is better than one, because they go flat on sorting day rather than on a quiet Tuesday. Alkaline, not rechargeable. Do not put these on a charger.
