Tips are the wear part on a gas dehorner. They take the full heat cycle every time, they sit against hair and hide, and eventually one stops holding temperature the way it did. Keeping a spare on the shelf means a worn tip does not end a session. This is the 15mm size, listed by the maker as part DB15. Changing it is a spanner-and-Allen-key job: back off the M5 nut with an 8mm spanner, loosen the grub screw with the supplied key, fit the new tip and retighten both. Nothing needs forcing. While the head is apart, it is worth blowing out the venturi with an air hose. Hair and soot collect there and are a common reason a dehorner heats slowly or splutters. Running clean, filtered butane keeps that interval long. Let the tool cool fully before handling the tip, since it stays hot enough to burn well after the flame is out. Match tip size to the animals you are working, and follow the manufacturer's directions along with your local animal-care requirements.
