InCide 25 Fly Killer is an insecticide registered with Health Canada under the Pest Control Products Act as PCP Reg. No. 31895 (registrant: Engage Animal Health Corporation). The label calls it an "AGRICULTURAL PYRETHROID INSECTICIDE/EMULSIFIABLE CONCENTRATE" and a Group 3 insecticide, with the guarantee "Permethrin 240 g per litre". This listing is the 500 mL can; the label on file with Health Canada (dated 2020-10-26) shows a 473 mL bottle, so read the label on the can you buy. What the label covers: "For indoor use only to provide residual control of horn flies, face flies, black flies, and stable flies in livestock housing such as poultry houses, stables, swine houses and milking parlours and holding rooms." It is "FOR USE ON NON-LACTATING DAIRY CATTLE, BEEF CATTLE, SHEEP AND POULTRY ONLY", and the label adds: "DO NOT use on any other animal, including lactating dairy cattle". On animals, the label lists horn flies, face flies, black flies, mosquitoes and lice on non-lactating dairy cattle; the same plus Rocky Mountain wood tick on beef cattle; ked on sheep; and Northern fowl mite on poultry. It also gives directions for back-rubbers and self-treatment oilers for beef cattle on pasture or range, and says not to use those on dairy cattle. Directions for livestock housing, from the label: "Spray all inside building surfaces of the barn including walls, ceilings and, beams." With a dilute sprayer: "Dilute 20 mL of Incide 25 with 2.5 L of water." and apply 2.5 L of that spray per 100 square metres of building surface. "DO NOT reapply this product for at least 14 days." "DO NOT exceed 12 applications per year." "Livestock returned to treated areas cannot be slaughtered for a minimum of 7 days after the treatment was applied to the livestock facility." The label also says "DO NOT apply indoors when people, pets or livestock are present.", "DO NOT allow people, pets or livestock to enter treated areas until sprays have dried." and "DO NOT apply when milking parlours, milk rooms and dairies are in operation." Spray rates, re-treatment intervals and pre-slaughter intervals for spraying animals differ by species and pest and are set out in the label's tables; follow them exactly. Precautions, as printed: "KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED." "Wash thoroughly after handling." The label sets the protective clothing for each kind of application equipment, with chemical-resistant gloves in every case. It also states: "Toxic to aquatic organisms. Toxic to birds. Toxic to bees." and "Do not use or store near heat or open flames." First aid, storage and disposal directions are printed in full on the label; read them before use.
