Replacement O-Ring for nylon syringe 30ml
Replacement plunger O-ring for the 30ml nylon syringe, the cheap fix for a plunger that has gone loose.
Details
Nylon syringes get dropped, stepped on and left in buckets and generally survive it. The O-ring on the plunger is the part that gives up, and a dollar fixes what would otherwise look like a dead syringe. You will know it is time when the plunger no longer holds position, when you cannot pull a clean full barrel, or when product escapes past the plunger as you push. All three are the same problem: a seal that has flattened, hardened or picked up a nick. This ring fits the 30ml barrel and only that one. Capacities do not share seal sizes, so check the syringe before you order. No tools needed. Draw the plunger out, roll the old ring off, roll the new one into its groove, wet it with clean water, and reassemble gently so nothing pinches. Never use oil or grease on a syringe that handles vaccine. Since it is apart anyway, wash the barrel and plunger in hot water with no soap and no disinfectant. Residue from either will inactivate a modified live vaccine, and you will not find out until the animals get sick. Let everything dry separately and store the syringe dismantled so the fresh ring is not held compressed through the off season.
