Replacement O-Ring for nylon syringe 10ml
Replacement plunger O-ring for the 10ml nylon syringe, the dollar part that stops you replacing a whole syringe.
Details
A nylon syringe does not usually wear out. The seal does. When the plunger starts to feel loose, when product weeps back past it, or when you cannot draw a full barrel without the plunger creeping, the O-ring is the part that has gone and this is the part that fixes it. This one fits the 10ml barrel. The sizes are not interchangeable, so check which syringe you are repairing before ordering, and note that a ring that is close but wrong will either bind or leak. Because the 10ml is the syringe most people use most, this is the ring that wears out first. Buying two or three at a time is sensible: they cost a dollar, they live in the same drawer as the syringe, and the alternative is discovering the leak on the morning you are processing calves. Fitting takes no tools. Pull the plunger out, roll the old ring off, roll the new one into the groove, and wet it with clean water before reassembling so it seats without tearing. Do not use oil or grease on anything that touches vaccine. Wash the syringe in hot water only, since soap and disinfectant residue will inactivate a modified live product, and store it dismantled so the ring is not sitting compressed all winter.
