The 100ml syringe asks the most of its seal. The biggest bore, the longest stroke and the most hand pressure per push all land on one O-ring, so this is the one that tends to need replacing soonest in real use. It costs a dollar. The symptoms are unmistakable at this size: the plunger creeps back, product escapes past it while you are pushing, or the barrel will not hold a vacuum long enough to fill properly. Any of those means the ring has flattened, hardened or nicked. This ring fits the 100ml barrel and nothing else. Seal sizes do not cross over between capacities, so check what you are repairing before you order. Given how hard this one works, buy two. Fitting takes no tools at all. Withdraw the plunger, roll the old ring off, roll the new one into its groove, wet it with clean water, and ease the plunger back in so nothing pinches. No oil, no grease, nothing petroleum near a syringe that handles vaccine. While it is in pieces, wash barrel and plunger in hot water only. Soap and disinfectant residue is the classic reason a modified live vaccine does nothing. Dry them apart and store the syringe dismantled so the new ring is not sitting squeezed for months.
