A hundred sterile number 20 blades to fit a number 4 handle. This is the workhorse box for anyone cutting on grown cattle and horses, because it is the same shape as the familiar number 10 scaled up to a size that will get through hide. Hide is what large blades are for. A small blade on a mature animal means repeated passes and heavy pressure, and heavy pressure is where control and safety both go. A 20 has the belly length and the thickness to open hide in one committed stroke. Buying a hundred at a time is the point. A fresh blade on every animal costs pennies, cuts cleanly at low pressure and heals better, and there is no argument for stretching one blade over a long day when the box costs what it does. These fit a number 4 handle. If your handle is a number 3, you want blades in the tens instead, and no amount of pressing will make these fit. The 20, 21, 22 and 24 overlap heavily, so most people should stock one large size, not four. Mount and strip with pliers or a needle driver, never fingers, pull the blade away from yourself, and put used blades in a sharps container.
