A twelve inch length of obstetrical saw wire. Short, for cuts where you are working in a tight space and a long wire is more hindrance than help. Single use, like all saw wire. A short length has less margin than a long one, so if it kinks it is finished. Store it dry and flat rather than folded, and replace it after a cut rather than coiling it back into the kit. At under eight dollars it is reasonable to keep a couple of lengths alongside a longer one, because which you want depends on the presentation and you will not know that in advance. The same caution applies as to all fetotomy equipment. This is for removing a dead calf, it is a veterinary procedure, and technique is what separates saving a cow from injuring her badly. Have your veterinarian show you before you need it, and if there is any question whether the calf is alive, stop.
