Cattle Boss feeding nozzle luer lock
Luer lock feeding nozzle that threads onto a syringe for oral dosing, replacing the needle with a blunt curved tip.
Details
This is a blunt nozzle that screws onto the luer lock threads of a syringe in place of a needle, so the syringe becomes an oral dosing tool. The tip is smooth and rounded and long enough to reach past the front teeth into the side of the mouth, which is where an oral dose needs to go if you want it swallowed rather than sprayed back at you. It is the right tool for pastes, oral drenches, electrolytes, and any small volume you need to get down a lamb, kid, calf, dog or cat. Aiming at the back corner of the mouth and giving it slowly triggers a swallow. Firing a bolus straight down the throat is how product ends up in the lungs. Threading onto luer lock rather than pressing on means it will not pop off mid-dose when an animal throws its head, which is the entire argument for a locking fitting. Keep oral nozzles physically separate from injection equipment. A nozzle that has been in a mouth has no business near a vaccine bottle, and a syringe used for oral dosing should be labelled and kept for that. Wash in hot water, dry it, and replace it when the tip gets rough. What you give, how much and how often come from the product label or your veterinarian.
