Cattle Boss disposable scalpels #10 (10 per box)
Ten sterile disposable scalpels with a number 10 blade moulded to the handle, the general-purpose curved blade for skin.
Details
A disposable scalpel is a blade already fitted to a plastic handle, sterile in a sealed sleeve, ready to use and then thrown away. No handle to buy, no blade to mount with pliers, no instrument to clean afterward. Ten to the box. The number 10 is the blade most people picture when they think of a scalpel: a curved belly with the edge along the outside of the curve. You cut by drawing the belly through tissue, which is what makes it the standard choice for opening skin. It is the small-blade version, so it suits calves, lambs, kids, cats and dogs, and fine work on bigger animals. The reason to buy disposables over a handle and blades is not laziness. Every cut starts with a factory edge, there is no fumbling a loose blade onto a handle with cold hands, and nothing goes back in the kit to be cleaned badly. If you only cut a few times a year, this is the cheaper and safer way to do it. Check the sleeve is sealed before you open it. The whole unit goes in the sharps container when you are done, not the garbage. Restraint, clean preparation and pain control all matter more than the blade, and anything past what you have been shown how to do is a call to your veterinarian.
