Cattle Boss cow cufflink adjustable 12"-21" Blue
Adjustable cow cufflink in blue, 12 to 21 inches, a padded hind-leg link that stops kicking without tying a leg up.
Details
A cufflink is two padded cuffs joined by an adjustable link that goes around both hind legs above the hocks. With the legs linked, a cow cannot swing a foot forward at you, but she can still stand square, shift her weight and put her feet down normally. That is the difference between restraint and immobilisation. The adjustment range covers 12 to 21 inches, which takes it from a smaller heifer to a mature cow. Set it so she can stand comfortably with her legs at natural width; over-tightening turns a good tool into a bad one and makes her more likely to go down. This is the tool for treating a sore quarter, milking a fresh cow that objects, cleaning a wound on a hind leg, or any job where the working end of the animal is also the dangerous end. Compared with a rope hobble it is quick to put on and take off, and compared with tying a leg up it leaves her balanced. Blue and red are the same product; the colour is there so you can tell yours from the neighbour's or keep one set to a particular pen. Never leave a cufflinked animal unattended and never move her far in it. Check the padding for cracks and the link for wear before each use, and wipe it down between animals.
