Three eighths of an inch inside is a meaningful step up in bore from the quarter inch tube, and it changes what the tube will do. Thicker fluid moves through it without you fighting the flow, and it takes larger volumes in a reasonable time. The five eighths outside diameter means the same eighth-inch wall, so it keeps the kink resistance while giving you the wider passage. Ten feet of it lets you cut to whatever length your setup needs and keep the balance in the coil. Tubing does not last forever in a barn: it gets chewed, kinked, stood on and eventually goes stiff, so having spare on hand is sensible. The bigger tube is not automatically the better one. Choose bore for the animal and the job, not for speed. And the tube itself is the easy part of stomach tubing; being certain of placement before anything goes down it is what matters, and that is worth learning from your veterinarian on a calm animal rather than working it out under pressure. Flush it through after every use, hang it to dry, and keep it out of direct sun so it does not harden off.
