Small dogs, dogs a few teeth short, and dogs that have simply never got on with a large kibble are the reason this format exists. Mini Chunks is the same sort of everyday maintenance food as the rest of the Supreme dry range, in a noticeably smaller piece. Whole grain ground corn is the first ingredient, followed by soybean meal, poultry by-product meal and wheat middlings, with poultry fat preserved using BHA and citric acid. It is an adult maintenance formula rather than an all-life-stages one, so it suits a grown dog with an ordinary day rather than a pup or a hard-working animal. The bag holds 18.1 kg (40 lb), which is a great deal of food if the dog eating it weighs ten kilos. Amounts are printed on the bag and are worth measuring rather than guessing with a small dog, where an extra handful is a far larger error than it would be for a big one. Talk to your veterinarian about the condition you should be aiming for. Small kibble packs tighter and leaves more fines in the bottom of the bin than a chunk food does. Decanting a workable amount into a smaller container and keeping the main bag sealed holds the last third of it in better shape.
