Tuffy's puts this one at weaning through to about a year of age, and also lists it for pregnant and nursing females. The 13.6 kg (30 lb) size tends to suit a household raising one litter rather than a kennel running several at once. Chicken by-product meal is the first ingredient, with brewers rice, whole grain ground corn, beet pulp, dried egg product, flax seed and fish meal following. The minerals are chelated proteinate forms and the fat is preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid. Once a pup reaches adult weight the intention is that you move it onto an adult formula rather than leaving it on this bag. Growing dogs are fed several times a day early on and then tapered to fewer meals, and the right amount changes almost week to week. The guide on the bag gives you the range; your veterinarian is who to check growth against, particularly with a large breed. Keep the bag sealed and cool. Feeding a single pup, a 30 lb bag will still be open for some weeks, so a bin with a proper lid earns the space it takes up.
