Maintenance is the formula for the dog that is not working hard. A house dog, an older dog that has slowed down, a dog that puts weight on looking at a full bowl — this is the lighter option in the Tuffy's Gold dry range, sitting well below the Performance formula on both protein and fat. Chicken by-product meal leads the ingredient list. Fish meal and flax seed are included as fat sources, the minerals are chelated forms, and glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulphate appear in the ingredient panel as they do across the Gold dry line. The bag holds 18.1 kg (40 lb). A lower-fat food only does its job if the amount fed matches it, so the feeding guide on the bag matters more here than it does on the higher-energy formulas.
