Disease travels on boots more reliably than almost anything else on a farm. Between a calving barn and a sick pen, between your yard and a neighbour's, or when a vet, feed rep or trucker steps down out of the cab, a clean pair of disposable boots is the cheapest biosecurity you will ever buy. These are the heavier 152 micron weight, which works out to six mil, so they hold up to walking a concrete alley or crossing a bedded pen rather than splitting on the first step. The elastic top stretches wide enough to pull over a large insulated work boot with no ties or fasteners, and they run tall enough to keep splatter off the lower leg. Keep a bag behind the truck seat and a bag by the barn door. They are just as useful in the other direction, keeping manure out of a clean truck cab or off the porch after a night check. Pull them off inside out, put them in the garbage, and the job is done.
