EZ-Punching Leather Punch
Revolving leather punch with six rotating tube sizes from 2.0mm to 4.5mm for adding holes to belts, straps and tack.
Details
A revolving punch is the tool you reach for when a cinch strap, a halter crown or a belt needs a hole that was not there when it left the factory. This one carries six punch tubes on a rotating dial — 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm, 4.0mm and 4.5mm — so you turn the head to the size that matches the buckle tongue rather than making do with whatever is on hand. The long handles give real leverage, which matters on thick harness leather and doubled latigo where a light punch crushes the fibres instead of cutting them. Set the leather flat on the anvil plate, line the tube up square to the surface, and squeeze in one steady motion. Rocking the handles part way through leaves a ragged hole that tears out under load. Keep the tubes clear of leather plugs, and store it somewhere dry. A punch left on the bench in an unheated shop through a wet spring will surface rust, and the cutting edges dull faster than the rest of the tool.
