Details
Bear Tracks is an ice melter sold by Nutrien Ag Solutions for ice and compacted snow on sidewalks, driveways, steps and entrances. It has a blue marker colour, so you can see where it has been spread. Nutrien's safety data sheet for Bear Tracks (SDS 1000686618, issued 2015) lists two ingredients: sodium chloride (98.00 %) and urea (2.00 %). The same sheet says to avoid breathing the dust, avoid eye contact and prolonged skin contact, wear rubber or chemical-resistant gloves, and wash your hands thoroughly after handling. It also notes that the product is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms, so keep it out of drains, ditches and waterways. Size: 16 kg (35 lb) pail. Spread it at the rate and in the way printed on the pail. Store it in a cool, dry place away from children, feed and food products, and seed, as the safety data sheet directs.
